Solar Energy Information
Mohave Electric Cooperative received information from members regarding solar energy companies (or individuals) going door-to-door stating that they work on behalf of MEC and are willing to install solar systems for free. Members state that they must provide personal information to these solar sale individuals to receive the offer.
Mohave Electric Cooperative would like to make it clear and known that MEC does not contract with solar companies to install any home solar projects.
If members are ever unsure as to if an individual is truly an MEC employee, or contracted by MEC, please do not hesitate to contact our call center Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 928-763-4115, and press option 1 to verify that the individual is who they say they are. MEC crews will be in cooperative logo shirts, vehicles marked with the Mohave Electric logo, and will carry MEC photo IDs.
Although MEC does not contract with solar companies for home solar projects, MEC does offer a program known as our “SunWatts Renewable Energy Program” that is available for all members to apply for if interested in renewable energy resources. Even if you are not interested in applying for our SunWatts program but desire to have solar at your home, you will need to complete an Interconnect Agreement through Mohave Electric Cooperative to have a solar system built at your home.
Our SunWatts Renewable Energy Program can provide members up to $2,500 in energy rebates and is a great resource in achieving solar energy at a discounted rate for those that qualify for the program.
