Vehicle Collision with Power Pole Causes Outage

Bullhead City, AZ – On Friday, May 12 at 12:33 p.m. a vehicle crashed into a power pole off the 95 Highway and Merrill Avenue in the Bullhead City area causing an outage for 664 Mohave Electric members. MEC crews responded and are onsite, with assistance from Bullhead City emergency personnel to control the scene and make repairs. Estimated time of restoral is unknown at this time.

Additionally, on Thursday, May 11, at 1:41 p.m. a transmission power supplier to Mohave Electric experienced a four minute outage when their electric breaker opened. The outage affected 3,925 Mohave Electric Cooperative members in Topock and Mohave Valley areas. Once the power supplier closed their breaker, power was restored to all members at 1:45 p.m. The cause of the breaker operation is under investigation by the power supplier.
