Substation Equipment Failure Result in MEC Outage

Bullhead City, AZ – On Saturday, March 23 at 11:07 a.m., MEC’s substation system protection equipment shut power off due to failure of a component. The outage affected approximately 2,405 MEC members in the area of Riviera Blvd., Oatman Road, and Riverview Drive in Bullhead City.

MEC crews responded, and rerouted substation circuits, restoring power to all members at 12:25 p.m. Testing has been completed and the failed equipment is scheduled to be replaced.
