Classroom Grant Program

MEC’s Classroom Grants Program Returns with $200 Grants for 18 Teachers

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – Teachers are always coming up with new ideas of how to teach students, often without school or district funds to support new endeavors.

Fortunately for teachers at schools within Mohave Electric Cooperative’s service area, eighteen, $200-grants are available to support new classroom projects by submitting a Classroom Grants application.

K-12 teachers are encouraged to apply by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7th.  The grants will be awarded in June 2021 and may be used to purchase materials, supplies, equipment, or other essential items to support special classroom projects.

“This is a way for Mohave Electric to directly help educators who need valuable financial support for a worthwhile classroom program,” Bo Hellams, Public Affairs Supervisor said. “The application process is not lengthy and keeps teachers from having to reach into their own pockets.”

The grant application requires a project description, budget, and cost breakdown. Applications can be obtained at www.mohaveelectric.com/classroom-grants and can be submitted by email to mecpa@mohaveelectric.com or at MEC Member Services Office, 928 Hancock Rd., Bullhead City, AZ.  Application information was also shared with members in MEC’s April bill.
