599 MEC Members Without Power Due to Underground Fault

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – On Wednesday, December 8, at 12:16 p.m., 599 Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) members experienced an outage due to an underground fault on Highway 95 near Hancock. MEC’s substation technicians coordinated with the line crew to respond to the outage. Technicians used a method known as switching to isolate the fault and restore power to all members, while the line crew worked on the repair. Switching is rerouting power to restore electricity to members as soon as possible. Power was restored to all members the same day at 1:45 p.m. The outage affected members north of Marina up to Ramar Road.
