Joe Anderson

Joe Anderson has served as a District 3 Director since his appointment in May 2005. He has been a Mohave Electric Cooperative member since 1978 when he and his family moved from Southern California to Bullhead City.

Anderson has attained a Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate through course work offered by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and has attained the Board Leadership Certificate, a recognized measurement of competency on key current issues.  He regularly updates skills through course training and workshops in the electrical utility field.  He has served on the Arizona Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. Strategic Planning Committee 2010 - 2011.

A 31-year employee of the Bullhead City Fire Department, Anderson began as a fire fighter and is currently serving as Assistant Chief in charge of operations.  He holds a degree in fire science and is certified as a Paramedic.  As lead officer for the local Hazardous Materials Response Team, Anderson does HazMat training and instruction throughout the state.

Appointed by the Governor of Arizona to the Public Safety Communications Commission, Anderson represents the area and has been instrumental in the upgrade of the recent valley wide interoperable communications system for the department.

Anderson is a member of the Mohave County and Bullhead City Local Emergency Planning Committees and represents Mohave Electric on the Board of Directors of the Grand Canyon State Electric Cooperative Association, Inc.  He is also an active member of the local Knights of Columbus.
