Jose “Joe” Solar was appointed to the Mohave Electric Cooperative Board of Directors in January 2019 and is representing District 2.
Solar, retired, served as the store manager for TGY Corporation for 28 years and Family Dollar for another seven. He has been an MEC member for the last four years after moving to Bullhead City from New Mexico.
Solar has displayed the commitment to community important to becoming a board member. He was the president of the Knights of Columbus council while residing in Farmington and currently serves as president of the finance committee at St. Margaret Mary Church, is a teacher for the church’s religious class, the recording secretary for the Knights of Columbus council, and volunteers his time working the front desk at the Western Area Regional Medical Center.
In 2001, Solar received an Associates of Arts degree in business management from San Juan College in Farmington. While there, he also studied microeconomics and marketing.
