MMEAP Energy Assistance Program

A low income utility assistance program for Mohave members, Mohave Members Energy Assistance Program, Members Helping Members, began July 1, 2010.

The Mohave Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors proposed bylaw change was unanimously approved by members at the June 25th, 2010 Annual meeting allowing Mohave to move forward with implementation of the new program. Member’s rates will not be affected by the program.

The energy-assistance program is available for Mohave Electric members who live at or below the current Federal poverty level and at no fault of their own are facing a crisis in their household. Financial assistance will be determined on a case by case basis up to a maximum of $200.00 per household. Funds will be used for Mohave member’s electric bills only. If eligible, payment will be made directly to Mohave Electric Cooperative which will be applied to the member’s account.

The River Fund will administer the program without administrative costs to all qualifying Mohave members. Required documentation for consideration includes:  Driver’s License or government issued identification, social security card, proof of income and current Mohave Electric bill.

After completion of the application members can call The River Fund to schedule a confidential interview (702) 298-0611. Applications are available at our Customer Service Office.
