MEC Boom Box Entry Named "Best Overall"
Mohave Electric’s float – conceived, designed and built by the Operations team - featured two wooden distribution poles with crossarms attached, complete with transformers and power lines highlighted with LED bulbs. During the parade, the float went through simulated “black outs” – and that’s where our superheroes restored power and kept the lights on for the Christmas season!
The float was pulled by “Old Number 1,” Mohave’s 1946 Dodge Power Wagon, driven by CEO Tyler Carlson. Not far behind was the newest line truck in MEC’s fleet, complete with donated toys from Mohave Electric’s employees. The toys were delivered to the Bullhead City Fire Department in time for their annual Toy Drive benefiting hundreds of local children in the Tri-State area.
The MEC super display of holiday heroism and giving apparently impressed the parade’s judges enough to be awarded “Best Overall” display over approximately 80 other entries. Mohave has proudly participated in the Boom Box Christmas Parade since its inception in 1997.
