Jack Christy was elected June 2010 to represent District 1. He and his family moved to the area in 1981 from Southern California and have been members of the Mohave Electric Cooperative for the past 30 years. Christy is currently taking course work offered by NRECA to attain the Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate.
Christy is retired from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department after twenty-nine years in law enforcement. His experience included working with the Bell Gardens Police Department, Mohave County Sheriff, Needles Police Department and San Bernardino County Sheriff.
In his line of duty, Christy received the Medal of Valor from Mohave County Sheriff’s Department and Officer of the Year from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in Needles, California.
Upon his retirement he spent five years teaching Police Science and substitute teaching in the local area schools.
Christy is also active in civic affairs, local area school functions and youth sports as well as Pop Warner football and soccer.
