Give a $1 – make a difference

Mohave Electric Cooperative with the assistance of the Legacy Foundation began the From the Heart program in 2005 to provide a simple, convenient way for Mohave Electric members to help area residents in need through grants to non-profit organizations. From the Heart’s Board of Directors is composed of local community members and reviews all grant requests.

By participating in From the Heart, you are helping the program’s mission—supporting worthwhile causes including, but not limited to, needs of a charitable, literary, medical, educational or energy related natures, as well as food, clothing and shelter for those in need within Mohave County.

“All donations, no matter what size, play a part in helping to give back to our community,” said Julie Bare, Board President for Mohave’s From the Heart.

Mohave Electric members can make a voluntary donation of $1 to From the Heart on their monthly electric bill. Simply pay the sum of your electric bill entitled TOTAL WITH VOLUNTARY DONATION. The billing system recognizes exactly $1 over the TOTAL AMOUNT DUE as an automatic donation to From the Heart.

Many area programs have received From the Heart grants including The River Fund, Weekend Hunger Backpack Program, Mohave Members Energy Assistance Program Members Helping Members, Salvation Army Emergency Utilities Aid Program, United Way, Colorado River Union High School District Advanced Placement Program, Bullhead City Fire Department Child Passenger Safety Class,  the Mohave Community College Industrial Technology Scholarship Program, Boys & Girls Club of the Colorado River, Praise Chapel and New Bay.
